mecscomms is recruiting a contract Cisco WAN Solutions Architect, Technical Design Authority & Network Design Engineer on a work from home basis, on behalf of a Global IT, Technology, Cloud, Telecoms Carrier & Network service provider. We are looking for someone who has experience in the LLD and HLD design process & configuration of large scale Cisco WAN & Cisco IP infrastructure solutions within large datacentre environments. Ideally you will possess CCNA / CCDA / CCDP / CCNP or equivalent certifications. Role: WAN Solutions Architect, Technical Design Authority, Design Engineer, Customer Solution Design, LLD, HLD Purpose: Production of HLD & LLD designs for WAN network solutions in a large Data Centre environment, providing Cisco, IP m& WAN technology consulting around design practice & implementation methods. Utilising site surveys and technical knowhow, you will take ownership of creating Low Level Designs LLD, High Level Designs HLD, Site Implementation Plans and documentation of the solution configurations in support of Cisco WAN & Datacentre solutions deployments. The role will provide bespoke, detailed designs & technical ownership for the customer solution. The network designer will be engaged throughout the LLD /HLD design process including the design and documentation of solutions. The Design Engineer will own the technical delivery of customer solutions and will be the technical interface between customer, product teams and project management during service delivery. Potential candidates should possess demonstrable experience within highly complex Low Level & High Level Solution design and technical architecture whereby you can demonstrate both strong commercial & technical abilities. Responsibilities: Capture and interpret customer requirements Design complex and bespoke custom solutions Produce LLD and HLD design documentation Advise and guide colleagues regarding technologies, design practices, and implementation methods. Produce designs within forecast delivery timescales, and deliver solutions within the requirements. Build accurate, scalable cost models and provide input into pricing strategy Identify and document any risks to the solution Propose Statement of Works and High Level Designs Ensure solutions are deliverable in timeframes committed Production of Customer Designs for LAN, WAN solutions for large enterprise customers using Cisco routing and switching (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR), and firewall (Checkpoint) Interface to external contracts as required Support delivery and implementation teams Present to internal stakeholders and up to C-level customers Candidate profile: We are looking for someone who has experience in the design of large scale Cisco IP WAN solutions including highly complex Low Level & High Level Solution design and technical architectures whereby your technical knowledge includes: Technical Low Level Design (LLD) & High Level Design (HLD) documentation Ability to understand the individual site survey reports and produce the required output Ability to question the site survey engineers both internally and externally Cisco IP WAN solutions design experience Datacentre design Cisco IP WAN solutions deployment within complex datacentre environments Cisco routing and switching (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR), and firewall (Checkpoint). F5 products (LTM, APM, DNS) It is desirable for candidates to have some Cisco certifications ranging from CCNA to CCNP, CCDP, CCIE written/full lab. It is essential for the successful individual to currently hold OR be eligible to pass BPSS (Basic Check) and SC level security clearance checks.
