Overview
QUALITY ENGINEER An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Quality Engineer to join our new UK team. The company is part of a well established group manufacturing trim and acoustic components for the Automotive, Truck, Bus and Off-Highway vehicle sectors. With in-house design, development, testing and tool making facilites we are well placed to serve this demanding customer base. Due to continued growth and expansion this role has been created to support a brand new UK production facility based in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. There is significant opportunity for career progression for the right candidate. THE ROLE • Will design, develop, implement and maintain internal information flow and reporting mechanisms relating to nonconforming products, 8D, and any specific customer complaint procedures. • Will be responsible for internal / external PPM and maintenance of internal KPIs. • Will be responsible for instigating scrap reduction initiatives and managing the cost of nonquality. • Initiate Discrepancy Material Reporting for non-conformities. • Will commence incoming, process and final quality inspections throughout the day and act in coordination with the production flows. • Monitor process and controls ensuring continuous improvement, create and mentor work groups to solve quality related issues. • Technically capable of using measuring equipment and control gauges (caliper, height indicator, micrometer, hardness etc.) • Will contribute to the wider corporate quality strategy reporting daily to corporate HQ and working closely with colleagues at other geographical locations. • Will make customer presentations and visit customers and suppliers in the UK and abroad as the company representative in all issues of quality. • Other duties as assigned THE PERSON • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience within similar roles in Quality preferably in the Automotive sector or wider Vehicle industry. • At least 1-2 years experience in Quality Control in a high-volume manufacturing environment. • Robust understanding of quality systems and thinking, IATF 16949 experience is a plus. • Use of inspection tools and SPC. • Can work independently, self-motivated with strong accuracy and attention to detail. • Detail oriented with rigorous approach to business matters. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Proficiency utilizing MS Office (Reporting & Presentation). • Able to support satellite UK sites with QA function. • Able to travel both within the UK and overseas given reasonable notice. • Training on corporate systems, processes and procedures will take place over an initial 4 week period at our corporate offices near Istanbul, Republic of Turkey.
