Overview
Our client within public sector is looking for qualified Solicitor/ Lawyer to work within their Highways and Planning legal team based in Kingston upon Thames. The role is offered on a 6 months contract basis paying up to £45/hour PAYE or £57.39/hour (umbrella rate/ inside IR35) depending on experience. Our client is looking for flexible and motivated solicitor to join this friendly and committed team. The Solicitor will be responsible for the following: Conduct several highways and planning agreements , some high profile, securing significant benefits for Surrey residents. Advise on general highways and planning issues, planning enforcement, local government law, Commons, Village Greens, and have conduct of any related litigation. Advise Members, particularly Members of the County's Planning and Regulatory Committee. Deputise for the Principal Lawyer as required. The work is fast-paced and key to the delivery of the Council's strategic goals. Required skills and Experience: Good experience in Highways and Planning Law and negotiating agreements; advocacy will not form part of this role. Providing solutions-focused and enabling advice on a range of planning and highways - related legal matters ability to learn quickly about subjects in which you may not have had any prior experience; Effective team working; Managing competing priorities to achieve client deadlines; and Exemplary client care.
