The job The purpose of the Multi-Skilled Engineer is to manage all day-to-day maintenance and oversee engineering activities to ensure optimum performance levels are achieved and sustained. Responsibilities: In the event of a breakdown, assess the defect, purchase the spares required and carry out the repairs where possible. Ensure contractors are used when required and arrangements are made in good time to ensure minimum downtime Ensure full communication with site management relating to maintenance and engineering issues Ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard Maintain stock levels of spare parts and equipment, plus monitor usage and costs New installation of equipment and structures Develop and progress a planned maintenance (PM) system for the site Undertake any electrical work required Your experience To be considered for the Multi-skilled Engineer job, you will be a time-served Engineer, ideally with experience of working within the food industry. You will have an understanding of PLC’s, be able to fault find independently and have good electrical knowledge including related electrical qualifications i.e. 18 th Edition. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills are essential, together with the ability to work independently.
