Overview
The Company Public sector organisation is looking to recruit a Senior Network Engineer with strong Cisco skills. The Role As part of an established team you will be responsible for the management and performance of client network infrastructure LAN/WAN, WLAN and DC, providing pro-active 3rd line support to ensure maximum availability of service. Specifically you will also: Ensure high availability, security and usability of the network that is transparent to users. Provide regular monitoring of Networks and rapid response to incidents. Design, development and implementation of IT Network Infrastructure and best practices across a large organisation Provide a seamless, reliable network with minimal downtime whilst extending its capabilities as a part of ongoing development. Develop and maintain efficient management of all networked systems under the control of Service. Plan and organise a range of complex activities related to implementation of new systems including liaison with suppliers and end users, production of work plans and monitoring these to ensure completion on time and within assigned costs. Contribute to the development of a culture of high engagement, where staff are empowered and entrusted to provide the best services for users The Requirements As an experienced Cisco qualified Network Engineer, you will be knowledgeable and experienced in a broad range of Cisco networking technologies having managed a Network infrastructure LAN, WAN, WLAN across multiple sites. With extensive knowledge of Firewall and network security technologies, you will be: Experienced in design, development and implementation of IT Network Infrastructure and best practices across a large organization Possess experience of 3rd line network support in an enterprise scale business Experienced and knowledgeable in VSS, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Data Centre Technologies and Cisco Unified Wireless Network infrastructure Experienced in troubleshooting and resolving issues at all levels Have experience of documenting systems and networks. Experience with SD technologies will be beneficial though not essential. In addition you: Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of users, working without close supervision Have the ability to organise and prioritise tasks and deliver to timetables. Possess good problem solving skills, including imaginative in finding solutions using different mechanisms and: Have the ability to analyse and investigate complex technical issues.
