Job Title: Business Planning & Consolidation Lead Base location: Hook Salary: Up to £68,000 About the role The Management Information and Analytics (MI&A;) Standard Service is a new capability in our IT Services function. It provides tools and support to enable the business to produce accurate, current and insightful Management Information supported by analytics services to enable further investigations. The primary data platforms include SAP BW on Hana, Business Objects, Microsoft SQL Azure and Power BI. The MI&A; team are responsible for the technical roadmaps and driving improvements in consultation with Group and Divisional CIOs, IT strategy and with IT Partners. Key accountabilities Build strong relationships with business and functional stakeholders to understand business direction, processes, issues, decisions, and shape data requirements for reporting, analysis and insight. Develop rapid prototype and proof of concepts to shape solution approaches, engaging closely with business stakeholders Using a "continuous improvement mind-set": Identify, recommend and implement solution design optimisations and performance tuning improvements. Support the Service Lead to analyse and understand system and user behaviour to drive adoption and business value-add. Create high-quality documentation to describe the technical solution and business-facing documents to explain in clear language the data model, measures, dimensions, hierarchies, history and data quality characteristics. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by constantly scanning/reviewing the market, attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks. About you Must have considerable experience working in finance, analytics and consolidation. As BPC Lead, you earn trust and credibility from business stakeholders by shaping requirements, challenging assumptions, thinking critically, recommending solutions and collaborative delivery. They will have delivery experience with corporate processes e.g. Finance, HR, Procurement, IT and with operational or core-business information systems across several industry sectors. Must have a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Marketing, or a work experience in IT of the equivalent. Broad BI solution and data management experience is essential. Essential Skill: SAP Finance core concepts SAP BW SAP BPC (standard) Nice to Have: IP Lumira SAC DigitalBoardroom S4 / Group Reporting Other finance and analytics platforms Detailed experience of industry best practice and standards. Must be able to articulate a considered proposal if deviations from standards would provide a better solution. Contribute to the technical and functional roadmaps for our BI service to ensure that it keeps current with the market and to ensure that it evolves with our changing business needs. Must possess excellent people skills to build long lasting relationships with the business and partners. Experience of working with, and actively managing, partners/3rd parties both on- and off-shore. The interactions will typically be with the technical design, delivery and operations teams. The BPC Lead must naturally flex their written and verbal communication styles to enable effective discussion with technical and business stakeholders as they work from business requirements to technical implementation.
