About the job As a Lab Technician joining our Lincoln team, you will work within a small laboratory team to prepare, evaluate and record findings of process control samples to ensure an acceptable coating is produced that meets required specifications. They will work with the team to provide an effective laboratory service to the plant by prioritising the processing of samples to meet Customer, Production and Engineering demands. This role is essential in assessing and confirming that superior quality coatings are delivered consistently. Core Duties: Metallurgical examine coatings on customer components to ascertain it meets the requirements expected or to establish cause of failure and effectively communicate results Carry out chemical analysis (Titrations) Analyse coatings using SEM and EDX Prepare a laboratory report outlining details of the examination and any conclusions reached Issue the final certification of conformance prior to the dispatch of components, ensuring that all inspection documentation is complete and that all details have been accurately recorded on outgoing certification Raise non-conformance reports when required Prepare bond strength samples (Tensile) for evaluation and prepare written reports of results for customers Support all PST quality reporting and audit requirements, undertaking additional quality responsibilities when required Work alongside the Engineering and Quality teams to provide the information required to qualify new or changes to processes About you: · Follow relevant quality procedures in order to deliver quality products and services and also identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement. · Undertake additional quality responsibilities (e.g. audit) when appropriately trained to undertake these responsibilities. · Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. · Contribute ideas on systems and process methods to improve deliverables. · Work safely, complying with all safety procedures, rules and instructions; and reporting workplace hazards, incidents or injuries to manager. · Be able to work well as part of a team, both under pressure and in a busy environment. · Be organized and capable of multitasking.
