Ongoing Monday to Friday, £16/£20ph OT Your new company A job opportunity has arisen at a leading UK university for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. Based in Central London, the internationally acclaimed University caters to around 45,000 students. The main focus of the Mechanical Engineer's job will be carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance, as well as minor works, conversions and refurbishments across the vibrant university campus. Your new role Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the provision of repairs, maintenance and operation of the University's mechanical aspects, together with reactive works of alteration and upgrade to plant and mechanical equipment, such as building fabric, heating, ventilation, gas, power and water services. Safety is of vital importance, and you will be expected to ensure that all works are conducted to the highest safety and quality standards and in line with regulations, completing all required paperwork and making sure that all record of site operations are accurate. What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate will be confident with mechanical fitting, have experience of working in a similar environment, be able to work off ladders and scaffolds and read and interpret drawings and technical manuals. Relevant supporting mechanical/plumbing qualifications (C&G, NVQ etc.) are strongly desired, and computer literacy, strong interpersonal skills and good personal presentation are highly advantageous.
