Overview
We are delighted to have an opportunity for an Education Lawyer to join our client, a Central London Borough. This interesting role is a locum contract, for an initial 3 month period with the view to be extended. The Education Lawyer will have a broad range of responsibilities encompassing Education Law and some Employment Law. Including: Conducting litigation on Education, employment and equality matters Undertaking advocacy Advising schools and academies Dealing with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Dealing with TUPE issues Attending unfair dismissal tribunals The Council have offices in a great central location, located close by to transport links and a variety of cafes and restaurants. The Education Lawyer will receive a competitive rate for their work. The Education Lawyer should be a qualified solicitor, or equivalent, and will have good knowledge of education and employment law. They will also have experience of conducting advocacy in Courts. Our client is ideally looking for an Education Lawyer who has worked in a local authority before, but they will also strongly consider those from other backgrounds with relevant skills.
