Overview

My client is a well-established financial institution based in Leeds with over 10 offices in and around West Yorkshire. This is a great opportunity to work in the financial services sector and make a real difference. Good working knowledge of the credit industry, financial services and housing associations is ideal with a knowledge of the public sector also very useful. Raise awareness of the Credit Union and the benefits of being a member. To work with partners to encourage tenants to manage their money to enable then to pay rent and other priority bills. Provide a non-judgemental and holistic City-Wide service to both Housing Officers and Tenants. Key Responsibilities: Manage referrals ensuring to meet and exceed defined business objectives. To provide an impartial, confidential and non-judgemental service To interview members with a view to formulating a strategy to deal with the financial problems presented. Conduct Home visits for the most vulnerable tenants To promote Credit Union services, Budget Accounts/Bill Paying Account, Savings and to apply for affordable credit Work to combat illegal and doorstep lending on estates Design, present and deliver training for all front line staff and other external agencies. To liaise with other teams in relation to the maintenance of budget accounts Signpost to External Partners and Agencies To assist the Financial Education of tenants and residents Set up surgeries and drop in centres for tenants Through involvement in this special project make a real contribution to the success of the Credit Union and the Partnership with Wakefield District Housing Training provided to be an expert on the new Universal Credits and Welfare reform - A Champion with an ability to explain complex and detailed scenarios.
