Overview

Role: BI Developer Location: Birmingham Salary: £35,000 - £48,000 up to a 30% bonus 1-2 days WFH more. A well-known financial organisation based in Birmingham are seeking a BI Developer to design and deliver Business Intelligence solutions across the Insurance sector of the organisation in order to maximise return on Investment from our clients data, technology and human assets by enabling timely and accurate data driven decisions to be made. Our client are currently at a transformational stage, and improving the way data is made available for analysis and reporting is recognised as a major opportunity across the whole business. You will design and build end to end BI solutions primarily using Power BI. This is a hands on role with an emphasis on providing excellent technical solutions to stakeholders. Job Duties You will design, build and maintain a data warehouse to support the growth within data and BI capabilities, whilst supporting the legacy systems Business Intelligence - Design, test, build and maintain the GI BI platform as the complete and integrated source of BI for General Insurance. To lead the development of reporting and MI, evolving how data and insight can be delivered across the company. Collaboration - Collaborate with the Insurance analytical community to improve internal capability and business outcomes. Act as a consultant, where required, to support other parts of the business. External insight - Bring external knowledge and experience of best practice and utilise a wide network with which to continue to drive improvement of BI across the company. Contribute to, agree and implement best practice in all facets of the BI development cycle. People Leadership - Where needed take on a technical mentoring role of employees, inside and outside of the team. Communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience. Skills Required Experience with dimensional data modelling. Experience designing and building ETL processes. Experience of working with SMEs, as well as business and data analysts to understand modelling requirements. Collaboration with stakeholders and other developers. You will have a modular approach to code design and build to encourage reuse and maximise efficiency. Experience using Azure stack, including Power BI.
