UX-UI Developer & Designer SC cleared - Enhanced checks needed London 12 months Outside Ir35 We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include creation of UI/UX design wireframes and their subsequent translation to the actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the overriding design team and bridge the gap between them and technical implementation to suit a different user base, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. Your primary focus will be to implement a complete user interface in the form of a desktop web app with a focus on performance. Your main duties will include creating modules, components and services and coupling them together into a functional app that communicates with the back-end via REST APIs. You will work on a team with back-end developers, one other front end developer, QA engineers, devops engineers, and software architects. The role will serve a wide and varied government user base. The UX UI Developer and Designer will be responsible for the following activities and artefacts: Deliver and translate user behaviour and research into actionable data. Deliver concepts, wireframes, and mock-ups that lead to intuitive user experiences. Deliver designs and create mock-ups and user journeys for a wide range of devices. Strategically create and deliver new features and functionality based on user stories and behaviour. Ability to clearly communicate research and design ideas to rest of the team. Experienced user of UX software such as Figma or Axure. Ensure delivery within relevant statutory and policy obligations. Skills: Understanding of UI and UX principles Experience creating user flows for digital experiences and turning user problems into functional UX solutions Appreciation of visual details, prototype design, interaction models and digital design Experience with Axure and Figma HTML 5 Must have experience in consuming Web APIs and services. Experience using RESTful APIs, API testing and API documentation (e.g. Swagger) Experience with testing tools and processes (jasmine, karma) Experience of DevOps tools, IDEs and source code management (Azure DevOps, GitHub) would be an advantage. Knowledge of C# and MS Visual Studio experience would be an advantage. Follow best practices and coding standards for cross-browser compatibility Follow established coding standards within the development team and cascaded from lead design team Communicate key strategy and reasoning behind technical decisions Communicate project progress, timeline and impact of changes to team lead. Timescales (for SC clearance) The SC security clearance process can take 3-4 months, and sometimes longer, from the date of the submission of accurately completed security forms depending on the level of security clearance already held and the vetting history of the individual.
