The Allianz Small Business team leads the way in digital underwriting. An opportunity has arisen to be part of the next innovative phase of e-trade in the UK. We are recognised as a leading UK insurer, winning both Commercial Insurer and General Insurer of the Year at the 2019 British Insurance Awards, and have ambitious plans to further grow our business. Join the Small Business Head Office team as a Senior Account Underwriter, assisting in the development of profitable SME business through the handling of technical underwriting and claims referrals, the monitoring of account performance, control of underwriting standards and business development activity. As a key member of the team you will work closely, on regionally aligned basis, with our Small Business Teams, the UK broker network and other Allianz branches in a fast paced environment, assisting to control and profitably grow the account. Please note, we are recruiting for a single vacancy, either at band D or band E, depending on experience Your role will include: Assisting in the management of branch activity, account performance and technical underwriting competence Supporting the strategic delivery of new business development opportunities and developing existing business accounts Assisting in identifying over and under performance and implementing remedial and opportunity actions as appropriate Assisting branches, on a regionally aligned basis, with technical underwriting and claims referrals, complaints and general queries Analysing large losses and liaising with claims Training and coaching of others Assisting with the delivery of new innovative e-trade products to market Ensuring proactive up-to-date knowledge is gathered around competitor activity and market developments You will be assisted in the development of your underwriting, trading and soft skills. You will also be encouraged to study Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) subjects in order to obtain professional qualifications and will develop your knowledge further by participating in our CII accredited Underwriting Academy.
