Overview

Technical Services/Infrastructure Engineer - Manchester - to £45,000 Your new company Prestigious opportunity with a UK Market leading organisation for a Technical Services Engineer. Your new role Working as part of the Technical services team you will manage, develop and support our IT Operations. Providing technical support to the entire business, supporting the Service desk, Infrastructure, SAP and Project teams. Responsible for the day to day running and support of the IT operations infrastructure. Work on key IT projects as directed by the Technical Services Manager. Provide hands on technical knowledge for all aspects of the operations landscape. Develop and maintain the support procedures and processes, necessary for all aspects of the operations landscape. Identify and perform tasks to regularly patch and upgrade the operations landscape to ensure it remains robust, stable and secure. Perform tasks that ensure the key infrastructure, desktop services and applications are available 24x7 365 days per year. Monitor, maintain & report on overall system performance. Provide support for the Group IT infrastructure, local and wide area networks including problem solving and performance monitoring. Contribute to the maintenance of the applications located in the 2 x DataCentres and site based computer rooms. What you'll need to succeed Successful Engineers will possess a combination of some of the following skills:- Experience working in an Enterprise environment, managing the following Microsoft products; MS Server and desktop operating systems MS Exchange 2013 MS SCCM Office 2016/365 Group policy (GPO) design, troubleshooting. Active directory management MS SharePoint Citrix design, administration and troubleshooting. XenApp, XenDesktop, Storefront, NetScaler etc. Practical experience managing virtualised environments - ESXi, XenServer, Hyper V etc. Experience maintaining equipment; patching applications, patching operating systems and hardware/firmware. Experience deploying, managing desktop applications and operating system deployments (Desktop and servers). Scripting knowledge . Working knowledge of computer & server hardware, storage area networks (SAN's), network switches, cabling etc. Experience managing backup, restore and DR solutions. Database administration, including installation, backup and recovery of Microsoft SQL Server. A knowledge of networks, TCP/IP, WIFI, WAN & LAN.
