**Introduction** As a Client Technical Specialist you understand the client's business requirements, technical requirements and/or competitive landscape. You apply your business insights, build and maintain client relationships, incorporate hardware, software and services into client-valued solutions and ensure client readiness for the implementation of technical solutions. Start your journey now! **Your Role and Responsibilities** As one of our leading Technical Speciliasts or Solutions Engineers within the IBM Z wider team you will be focused on Red Hat OpenShift and CloudPak technologies .This is a key role focused on emerging technology that is strategic to the growth of our business. In this role, you will partner closely with product management teams across Europe, as a liaison to IBM clients by providing product feedback and input to future enhancements. You will work closely with the IBM Sales organization to build key account strategies that ensure the success of OpenShift + CloudPaks on Z for our clients by driving product adoption. In this role, you will offer clients guidance on cloud architectures, multi-cloud integration and middleware deployment methodologies. You will also need excellent communication and people skills, because you will be a crucial part of the overall experience our customers have with IBM. This is a highly visible role working in an area that is strategic to IBM's business. As such, there will be a great deal of responsibility placed on you. Primary job responsibilities Perform in-depth analysis of client's business and technical requirements to develop clear definition of the appropriate hybrid cloud, multi-cloud architecture; then present operational benefits, value benefits, scenarios and value proposition. Lead and participate in deep dive technology discussions and workshops to position IBM Redhat solutions on IBM Z. Able to build and maintain an advanced understanding of the IBM Cloud/Hybrid Cloud portfolio and foundational components including Redhat OpenShift, CloudPaks, DevOps, Kubernetes, Containers, Microservices etc... Ensures client success through proven deployment strategies Collaborate with product teams and the Product Engineering, Professional Services, and Sales teams to ensure excellent client experience with our offerings and solutions Serve as a trusted subject matter expert to our clients, gain the trust of IT professionals, and build long-lasting relationships within our key accounts Demonstrate expertise by delivering whitepapers and conference speeches; share knowledge with your team members to allow them to learn from your work. This position can be located anywhere in the UK or Europe. The role will require travel, within the candidates Host country and across Europe and potentially international, depending on client requirements. Additional European languages will be considered advantageous. **Required Technical and Professional Expertise** + Extensive experience when working in sales engineering, consulting, cloud architecture, or in a similar field. + Strong background with integration, development, or administration experience with Linux systems; RHEL & CoreOS a plus. + Firm understanding of various network topologies, load balancer solutions and TCP-IP stack. + Experience working with various Java middleware such as EJB, RMI, JNI, AJAX. + Experience with emerging technologies like public or private cloud, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Linux containers, container orchestration and management, automation and configuration management, DevOps, and continuous integration (CI) and continuous development (CD), or modern application frameworks + Willingness to travel throughout Europe 75% and globally up to 25%. + Fluent In English **Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise** + Professional certification such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), Kubernetes Certified Service Provider (KCSP) or Docker Certified Associate (DCA) is a plus **About Business Unit** IBM Systems helps IT leaders think differently about their infrastructure.
