Overview

Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a highly innovative AIM listed manufacturing business in Sheffield as they look to appoint a Group Accountant for their head office function. The Group Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and will be working with a highly skilled and professional Finance team. The Group Accountant will be responsible for creating, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, planning and analysis. There is a requirement for extensive collaboration with financial and other less financially orientated staff in the operational entities regarding financial and other controls, policies and reporting matters. The main duties will include: - Monthly financial reporting - Responsibility for delivering monthly consolidated Group Management Accounts for inclusion in the monthly Board Pack Half-yearly reporting - Preparation of consolidated financial statements under IFRS for inclusion in the interim announcement Liaison with Group Auditors for review of half-yearly results shortly after internal submissions Annual reporting - Playing a major part in the annual audit process and production of annual Statutory Accounts under UKGAAP as well as ongoing statutory returns Controls improvement - Assisting in designing, implementing, improving and maintaining a strong financial control structure. This will include the integration of newly acquired businesses as required to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with Group policies Financial support - deliver sound financial information and support as required to aid management decision-making, leading discussion on the financial implications of operational decisions as part of a proactive Group Finance team Staff development - mentoring, coaching and developing less experienced members of the finance department Treasury - involvement in Group Treasury matters Provide accounting technical support to the business on proposed ventures and impact assessments of new financial reporting standards The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience: ACA or ACCA Qualified (Preferably big 4 trained) Self-starter with the drive to pick up projects and run with them without close guidance Good manager of time and ability to multi-task to deliver a variety of work streams to deadlines Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with a wide variety of people of all levels of seniority Ability to challenge Attention to detail while maintaining a sense of the bigger picture Willingness to Travel This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong senior accountant this fast-growing business with an exciting and hugely positive market outlook.
