Overview

The Role: Fircroft are proudly working with a recognised manufacturer to appoint a Permit to Work Co-ordinator on Dayshift. 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday. Recruitment is due to capital investment. Do you have the required skills, knowledge & experience to support the business? The Permit to Work Coordinator focuses on coordination of site work for all equipment on site. - The Permit to Work Coordinator is responsible for the issuance, recording, suspension and tracking of permits. - The Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator will ensure all PTW personnel are following the PTW Procedure. The role is characterised by: - Familiarity with safe systems of work and permitting practices as well as the tasks relating to operation of the facility - Collaboration with the work force to ensure requirements for safe execution of work are clearly understood and adhered to - Leadership to ensure site priorities of safety, quality, and schedule are achieved; includes a high level of assertiveness to ensure effective communication and control of permitting processes - Ensure that Permits are issued according to Permit To Work Procedure - Co-ordinate permit activities for site shut downs and project engineering. - Ensure all users of the PTW and isolation procedures are appropriately trained in use and application. - Attend site production and planning meetings. - Maintain stock of associated permit to work paperwork. - Work alongside the maintenance team to produce turn round plans and ensure that all jobs are completed within the required timescale in respect of maintenance activities. - Ensure all necessary signatures, documents, and approvals are obtained to execute work. Ensure that all appropriate communications to the workforce are executed timely - Ensure that adequate RAMS are prepared and attached for all activities; ensure defined precautions are identified and applied - Inform operational personnel regarding the reinstating of process plant and equipment - Ensure permits are cancelled or closed out appropriately - Provide statistics and communicate updates on PTW progress - Verify that each new PTW does not conflict with other existing activity - Monitor the PTW system and assessments and provide reports to site management regarding improvement opportunities as well as things that are going well. - Provide site management with ideas and recommendations for improving safety and efficiencies - Manage the Permit to Work office - Maintain the PTW log and board displaying all permits and certificates in use - File permits for future use and incident investigation; and manage the respective archiving and disposal of completed permits. - Ensure consistency of PTW application and process - Coach and manage PTW applicants and PTW personnel - Control isolation systems and check that all isolation certificates have been correctly completed - Review and endorse isolations - Conduct PTW audits to ensure system effectiveness and compliance The Company: Fircroft are working in partnership with a household International food manufacturing business based in Teesside. Essential Skills / Qualifications: - Process and/or chemical industry experience is a must. - Proficient in control of safe systems of work - 5 years experience minimum. - Demonstrated leadership skills through previous supervisory position. - Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely track active work and communicate with both production and engineering department. - Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities - Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs About Fircroft: Fircroft has been placing people in specialist technical industries for approaching half a century, focusing on mid to senior level engineers for contract and permanent roles worldwide.
