Overview

Our client is a reputable FTSE-250 business which is continuing to invest heavily in its IT and undergoing a large transformation of their IT systems, environments and processes. As a result, they are looking to recruit a Technical Infrastructure Lead to responsible for the future design and continuous and improvement of their IT infrastructure including storage, networks, servers, hosting platforms and business critical systems whilst acting as team lead to 4 – 6 engineers. This position will be responsible delivering large infrastructure change projects with the successful candidate to use their management skills and technical knowledge to design and implement new solutions into the business, while maintaining, supporting and providing continuous improvement to existing on-premise Infrastructure and new Azure cloud Infrastructure. Responsibilities Provide technical and operational guidance and mentor members the Infrastructure Platform Team. Develop the Infrastructure Platform Team with a cloud focused mentality. Building a group of highly skilled, multi-disciplined colleagues that align to business values and vision. Work closely with the Development teams, ensuring we continue growing our DevOps culture and mature the DevOps ways of working. Continually develop and maintain an expert understanding of systems & services and their interaction with the business Manage third party vendors, holding regular reviews and ensuring they are working within agreed SLA’s Research and evaluate new technologies to increase the performance and security of our platforms and services Contribute to the design and direction of our future IT Infrastructure Work Closely with the Deskside Services Team Leader to ensure that support is passed down with a “Shift-left” mentality Build and Support both the on-premise and cloud infrastructure, including the eCommerce applications and supporting systems. Work closely with other IT Stakeholders to ensure all required projects and subsequent support are adequately planned and resourced Monitor, support and maintain the infrastructure in accordance with the Incident, Major Incident and Problem Management processes with a focus on driving down repeat tickets. Skills & Experience Prior experience acting as Technical Lead, Solution Architect or leading infrastructure teams managing largescale Window Server and Cloud Environments. Strong leadership qualities with a proven ability to manage and drive a team to success Strong understanding of ITIL and familiar in managing a DevOps culture Experienced in incident management and escalation processes Be an innovative and positive team player who is prepared to challenge the status quo. Having a ‘Can do’ attitude. The ability to form strong, mutual and professional business relationships with internal business users, external partners and suppliers.
