Overview
IT Systems Administrator Leicester £35,000 - £40,000 per annum Perm This is an excellent opportunity for a IT Systems Administrator to join a technical team that are responsible for ensuring the continuity of IT services and support to systems in a multi-user environment. You will be responsible for protecting critical information, systems and assets, as well as be involved in solution design and build, software and hardware implementation and training. Responsibilities will include; Proactively manage and maintain servers, networks and firewalls. Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions for a controlled environment. Define and document support practices and procedures. Provide out-of-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies and maintenance. Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation. Assist in cross training team members on existing and emerging technologies. Maintain in infrastructure requirements including, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and security updates. Support internet, intranet, LANs and WAN. Perform routine and scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups. Carry out special tasks at Management's direction. Interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required. Support the overall service delivery of the team The ideal candidate will have prior experience in similar role within a high pressure environment. You will have experience in LAN/WAN networking. Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration. Hardware, software, and network connection troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of anti-virus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network security measures. Proven analytical and problem solving abilities, strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail as well as a strong customer service orientation would also be required. Extensive hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols & standards and knowledge and experience of VoIP systems and integration would be an advantage.
