Read on to find out more about the services that would suit you……… Overview We are currently looking for difference makers in various services across Llanelli, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. As Support Worker (Relief) you can choose to work in just one or across a few of the services. You will feel the reward of building lasting and trusting relationships with those you support. The role will develop your communication and interpersonal skills, as well as your knowledge and networks within the support work role. As a Support Worker (Relief) you will be involved in day-to-day support including; Providing full personal care Supporting people to live everyday lives Support with medication Meal preparation Accompanying our clients to social activities Providing social and emotional support Undertaking relevant training for the role You will be available to work sleep in shifts and wakeful nights on a rota basis Who are we looking for? A background of working with people with mental health needs is desired for our learning difficulty services, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. More important are; A genuine desire to help people and make a difference An understanding of the challenges that many of our service users face Keen listening and communication skills Empathy, compassion and a caring nature Flexibility including working evenings/ bank holidays and weekends Respect, integrity and dignity for our client groups A non-judgmental approach to providing care and support. A current driving license To work in this role you’ll need to be registered with Social Care Wales.
