Overview
If you’re someone that enjoys thinking on your feet, with a new challenge every day then this role could suit you. The business is diverse one, with a number of different revenue streams meaning there is a lot going on. The team is a large one with a variety of different responsibilities and areas to get involved and contribute. The role will focus on assisting your management accounting counterpart in day-to-day duties, like month-end close processes and all financial reporting requirements. Like any business, real time reporting is critical so you will produce and oversee a number of weekly and monthly reports for use by internal stakeholders. This will also involve ad hoc analysis of month-end data and providing support to the financial planning & analysis team. This role supports the completion and delivery of critical business tasks so there is a genuine opportunity to make a difference. You’ll also be able to get involved in operational and ad hoc finance projects as well as contributing to an ongoing process improvement programme. As an organisation, teamwork is key to their overall success. You will be treated as an individual and given the opportunity to play to your strengths and work on your weaknesses. There is a clear focus on personal and professional development so study support will be key to the role. Although a variety of experience is great, you don’t have to have ticked every box already. Ideally you will have around two to three years’ experience in a finance team with a focus on management accounts but if you have the right personality, drive and aptitude there is a conversation to be had. This role would suit an individual studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (ACCA / CIMA) although it’s not too late to start if you have some relevant work history.
