JOB AD: My client has exciting opportunities for CPU and SOC Modelling Engineers in Cambridge, UK, to deliver industry-leading mobile chip designs. Job Purpose: To enable the development of world-class SOC designs with a focus on CPU. Key Responsibilities: This opportunity is for a senior Modelling engineer to lead the system and CPU simulation tasks within the group. -Create and maintain System models to support architectural exploration. -Create and maintain CPU models to support micro-architectural exploration. -Maintain and manage benchmarks and micro-benchmarks to allow performance evaluation. -Summarize and report the results of ongoing tests. Person Specification: List details of Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications needed to do the job: Required: -Degree in EE/CE or relative field with 5 or more years of SOC modelling experience, with direct experience working with CPUs. -Experience in developing SOC system models for performance and power evaluation. -Benchmarking for performance and power. -Understanding of cache systems, MMU, coherency and CPU security. -Understanding of SOC low power design. -Software development skills: C, C++, make, git Desirable: -Familiarity with Gem5 software -Familiarity with ARM CPU and ARMv8 Instruction set architecture. -Development automation -Excellent learning and communication skills. Highly motivated and with a strong work ethic.
