Overview
Clothing Designer - Brighton Salary – Very Competitive Depending on Experience The Company: My client has been established as a niche fashion brand since 2010, offering fashion and lifestyle with a twist of darkness, channeling emotional power and raw energy into every thread. They are looking for a candidate who can relate to this niche edgy brand and be comfortable with their product type/ethos. The Role: Due to ongoing growth my client require a mid to senior-level garment designer to join their team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a flair for alternative/gothic fashion and an understanding of commercial design, possess excellent drawing skills, and have practical knowledge of garment construction. You will be responsible for checking the quality and makeup of the samples across multiple product areas as well as oversee all aspects of garment fit. You will also follow through with overseas factories on comments to be actioned and ensure all products are fit for formal production. Your Responsibilities: The role includes but is not limited to the following duties: - Garment and accessories design. - Drawing of technical flats and design sheets. - Catalog and presentation drawing. - Selection and approval of fabric and trims. - Comprehensive review of styles thru formal fit and sealing. Requirements: The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate: Would propose products that meet agreed design aesthetic & brand values. Understand technical specification standards and garment construction. Have practical knowledge and/or experience with international production methods. Be fluent in the use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Be able to produce high-quality work to targets and tight deadlines. Will be team orientated with good communication, organisational and motivational skills. Be able to work without supervision but be part of a team. An interest or understanding of gothic/alternative fashion would be beneficial but is not required. The Rewards: My client offers a competitive salary package based on experience and skills.
