Overview

TfN is looking to recruit a Major Roads Planning and Strategy Officer to: Support the Major Roads Team in working with DfT, Highways England and Local Authority partners in determining and agreeing priorities aligned to the Strategic Transport Plan Objectives for investment in the North’s Major Road Network. You will manage, control and deliver work programmes across the Major Roads Network to meet defined objectives and will be expected to deliver your scope of work in line with budgetary, compliance, regulatory and planning controls. What we’re looking for: The successful candidate must have experience in major highways and/or transportation programme development and delivery and will have the ability to understand and work in partnership with the Local Transport Authorities, Department for Transport, Highways England, Network Rail and/or other national agencies. You will possess and understanding of project and programme management principles and will have the confidence to support the management of project related stakeholder engagement and track and manage budgets. Proven experience across a range of relevant projects and programmes of work, degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience and a relevant professional qualification is essential.
