Overview

Role We are looking for a mid-level Website Programmer and Project Manager. Developing using Java, JavaScript and jQuery. You need to demonstrate a passion for website engineering, as this role is both technically complex and challenging. The Project management is initially to inject modern concepts and methodologies in support of the existing structure, helping Management keep firm control. The Company: We are a Company specialising in fire, water hygiene and health & safety risk assessment software. We have employed and contracted assessors throughout the UK as well as clients that license the use of our products. We currently maintain mobile applications and our own server-based website. The mobile apps perform the data collection in the hands of the Assessors, and the server presents the data via the website, allowing management, control and analysis of the amassed data. You would be joining a small but enthusiastic team currently developing an all new website with new mobile apps, using modern technologies and hosted using AWS. We are part of the way through this process but many new features are held over to beyond first release/use. So there are development aspects and project management roles to the project that span from Migration of existing data and development of current and new features and Project management, reporting and control. We are leaders in our Industry Sector and our development strategy of an all new product will enable us to maintain and grow this position. We are based just outside of Newbury on the Greenham Business Park, part of the former Greenham Common Air Base. We occupy part of the first floor of a new office building, with an open plan air-conditioned office environment. Duties: UI and back end website software development Be a part of a small team environment, sharing ideas and collectively finding solutions and implementing them. Guide testing and training within the team prior to release Be a part of designing and implementing bespoke Customer requests Assist in the project management reporting to the MD Introduce and oversee new strategies enhancing project management. Required skills: Key Skill Sets: Experience in Project planning, its tools, strategies and implementation Proficient back-end Java developer, especially JSP, J2EE Proficient with MySQL - or some experience of a similar SQL variant AWS Hosting, Linux and Tomcat Object Orientated Design HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap JavaScript, especially using jQuery and Node.js JSON and XML, XSL:T REST APIs General: passionate in developing technically sound and aesthetically pleasing website solutions Want to join a Company small in size but with significant influence in its market place.
