Overview
Factory Operative Day Shift Monday to Friday Competitive Salary on offer Based in Barcombe Permanent position Our client is a well-established Fabrication/Engineering firm servicing the Motorsport industry. Due to continued growth they are looking to employ an experienced, highly organised and pro-active Factory Operativereporting to the area Team Leader & Production Manager. This role will involve setting up and supporting engineers on a range of machinery and hand tools to create bespoke parts. Key Authorities and Responsibilities: Setup and support engineers, working with small batch parts on grinding machines, pillar drills, saws and hand tools Working to tight tolerances to ensure quality Produce components to drawing specification and required quality standards, with a full understanding of interpreting engineering drawings & surface finishes Changing tool setups and feeding machines Self-Inspection using manual gauges Maintain machines, tooling and good housekeeping Organise area & tooling to maximise productivity (5s) Operate plant equipment to procedures and health and safety guidelines Maintain all health and safety disciplines Willingness to participate in improvement activities across the business Assist in problem solving when issues arise Must embrace change and be willing to adopt new skills to support all areas of the business To be flexible in a small team-oriented environment. Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Ability: To be able to read, understand & follow engineering drawings and procedures Proficient using measuring equipment Show attention to detail & have a quality mindset Must possess a positive 'can do’ attitude Must have the ability to work without supervision & able to work with others in a small team environment Must be prepared to undertake all reasonable requests as determined by the business needs
