Overview
Production Engineer I am currently working with an automotive client who are looking for an experienced Production Engineer to join a growing team. They are looking for a Production Engineer who is a great team player, with methodical thinking and a systematic approach to work well in their existing team. Day to Day Responsibilities: Working with other team members and departments to identify cost savings and plant improvements. Liaising across departments to ensure success. Minimise impact of customer issues to the daily operations and actively support the customer specific teams to resolve these in a timely manner. Implementation of any process improvements and associated documentation. Ensure handling of all parts and assemblies have packing that is fit for purpose. Organising team activities such as Kaizen workshops. Ensure existing and new products can be manufactured in line with company requirements for Cost, Quality and Delivery, recommending improvements where required. Working with the NPI Launch Team and the SDS process and look to expand it into all areas of the business if appropriate. It will be critical to build a solid handover between the design department and Production Engineering to ensure new product success. Work with the Health and Safety manager to ensure and maintain OHSAS 18001 status. Evaluate new or emerging manufacturing techniques. Taking ownership of any possible changes and deliver the associated business case and CAPEX. Preparing equipment specifications, process FMEAs, process flow and SOP's during product development or improvement activities. Monitoring KPIs and ensure specific targets are achieved and identifying trends and corrective actions and improvements. Ensuring you comply and adopt the CANDO/5S programme regarding the organisation of your work environment. Skills and Experience: Minimum level HNC/HND in related subject PC Literate Previous experience within a similar position Lean Manufacturing methodology (OEE, Kaizen, Cando…) JIT processes Problem solving skills Drivers licence Desired Skills and Experience: MS Project AutoCAD Experience working for a Tier 1 supplier Knowledge of health and safety legislations If this position for Production Engineer sounds of interest, please apply with an up to date copy of your CV for consideration.
