Overview
Are you passionate about continuous improvement and making a difference? We are looking for a driven Production Engineer who is able to provide Engineering leadership to Operations on new products as well as continually looking to improve processes in production. Building relationships within the business is essential in order to share best practice throughout the plant. What will you be doing? Work with other departments to identify possible cost savings and plant improvements, ensuring appropriate actions are taken Minimise the impact of issues to daily operations, implementation of any process improvements Support the Production Engineering Manager by organising team activities such as Kaizen workshops ensuring both existing and new products can be manufactured in line with company requirements Work with the new product launch teams to ensure success, working towards a solid handover between the design department and production engineering Keep up to date on new or emerging manufacturing techniques, take ownership of any possible changes Prepare equipment specifications, process FMEAs, process flow and SOP's during product development or improvement activities. Monitor KPIs and ensure specific targets are achieved and identifying trends and corrective actions and improvements. This role is paying circa £35000 to £40000 but that does depend on experience and/or suitability for the role. benefits include 5 weeks holiday, parking, pension scheme (contributory), subsidised canteen, cycle to work scheme, Discount scheme (for various shops and businesses). The company is easily commutable from Portsmouth, Southampton, Waterlooville, Fareham, Cosham, Havant and surrounding areas. What do I need? You will need to have solid background in manufacturing within a Production Engineer role or similar role encompassing some or all of the above duties Engineering qualification equivalent to a HND along with some engineering experience Previous injection moulding experience is a must Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing Methods, OEE, Kaizen and CANDO as well as using this Knowledge of JIT Processes Some basic design (AutoCAD or similar) would be helpful Please apply, or you can ring Steph on 02392 453377 anytime to submit your application and learn more.
