Production IT Support Engineer Hours: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm Salary:£20,000-£25,000 Location: Portsmouth About Our Client Leading, rapidly expanding, multi-award-winning Group based in Portsmouth, providing superb opportunities to develop and progress your career within a very exciting role. Overview: To assist in the operation of the production support team in Ecommerce. This is a technical role that comprises all aspects of second line support with respect to the delivery of applications developed by the Ecommerce team. Responsibilities: Monitor the company's web sites and services using automation tools, reviewing log files and creating bespoke solutions to pro-actively ensure systems are fully operational Provide support to business areas by monitoring the production support ticket system and expediting problem resolution in a timely fashion and according to the stated priorities. Be proficient in the investigation of reported issues and expedite the associated resolutions. Strategise incident resolution and involve and organise other team members as necessary. Maintain documentation and ensure familiarity with all systems appropriate to being able to support those systems in all environments. Undertake changes to existing systems where the scope and associated risk is deemed to be small. Be familiar with development tools and configuration in order to be able to debug, reproduce and resolve bugs and small changes in applications. Employ source control systems to manage change in cooperation with development teams. Be responsible for the build and deployment of applications to all environments using the prevailing toolset including the advance notification of stakeholders. Understand and implement web site tagging and analytical tools in order to provide reporting to the business when requested. Take part in morning stand up meetings to discuss progress of work and prospective work for the day ahead. To undertake other reasonable responsibilities and projects as instructed by their line manager. Skills: Some exposure to Microsoft ASP.NET, MVC, C#, .NET Framework Some exposure to Microsoft SQL Server Familiarity with Continuous Integration concepts and automated build servers Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise workload against a flexible environment. Ability to quickly understand various internal/external business and system processes. Basic understanding of the project lifecycle. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). Knowledge of IT application frameworks and platforms. Self-starter working under their own initiative.
