Bias towards civil / highways engineering Building or civils structures Rail industry experience Interested candidates to value diversity in work type; Drawing experience of (varied experience – geometric highway alignment, roundabout design, junction design, pavement composition, public realm), Drawing experience of building structures (steel and concrete– (general arrangements, plans, sections, details, schedules); Drawing experience of drainage / water system designs (storm water, foul and potable water) desirable (varied experience – drainage layouts, details, long sections, schedules); Drawing and modelling software abilities including: Autocad (essential); BIM (Civils 3D) BIM (Revit) CADS RC (Reinforced Concrete Detailing) Experience of applying CAD Standards / Quality Standards; Awareness of relevant design standards Design Manual for Roads and Bridges; Manual for Streets; Sewers For Adoption; Eurocodes and BS; Awareness of: Planning and Adoption arrangements, Eg. under the Highways and Water Acts; S38 (highway adoption); S104 (sewer adoption); S278 (works to public highway); Planning Approval process Statutory Utilities Attention to detail and desire to produce a high quality, checked product; Technically adept and strongly IT literate; Good communicator and proactive team member; Experience of working with designers and CAD team colleagues; Someone who works efficiently with good time management skills; General I.T. – proficient in the Office suite of software; Desire for academic and career development; Full UK Driving licence.
