Associate Building Surveyor, Multi-Sector - Construction Consultancy London based Salary to £65,000 to £75,000 package Company Overview Our client is an extremely well-respected independent global building consultancy. As an organisation they are owner managed and are achieving year on year organic growth targets. They currently require an Executive (Associate) Building Surveyor to join their Building Surveying division at their Head Office in London. The role reports directly to the Business Unit Director, and has a team of senior and junior surveyors to assist with assignments.The company has a vast number of frameworks across both the private and public sector. The Role The role will involve playing a key role in an already successful team of Building Surveyors, driving business unit performance, delivering projects to time/cost/budget and growing a sustainable client base. Substantial post-graduation experience of delivering building surveying services to clients in the public and private sectors. To develop Building Surveying work in London encompassing commercial and public sector. Ensuring the quality and timeliness of service delivery to clients, acting as primary interface to help build client confidence. Providing effective and efficient administration of project accounts, management of internal job costing’s in relation to the fee and services and resource requirements. Design and Contract Administration Building Surveys - Condition; Defect reports and Pre-acquisition Dilapidations (for both L & T) Party Wall and Neighbourly matters Design, Specifying and CAD duties The Candidate They are looking for a self-starter with the drive, enthusiasm and commitment to deliver a quality service and the ambition to succeed and progress within the business. The ideal candidate will already be working at Associate level, however a Senior level Building Surveyor looking to step up will also be considered, based on their experience and application. This role will ideally suit someone who is interested in progressing to Associate Director level as there is a need for this as part of the Business Unit succession plan. The company can offer international transfers if desired to expand your experience. You will have a professional and positive approach with the ability to work as part of a team as well as being self-motivated and pro-active in using your own initiative. The ability to build strong relationships and communicate at all levels with all stakeholders is essential. Have a flexible attitude to work as well as being able to work under pressure and achieve targets, all while providing a high-quality client service whilst contributing and upholding the reputation of the organisation. Hold full membership of RICS or equivalent (3-5 years post qualification experience essential) A range of building surveying experience covering all aspects of the work at senior level Strategy development and implementation Experience of Commercial due diligence (surveys, portfolios - acquiring industrial offices etc.) Experience of maintenance, building defects analysis, dilapidations and party wall matters Good practical understanding of building construction and building refurbishment experience Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills coupled with excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills Change management Multiple Project/Service activity management Experience of using various standard contract forms and procurement routes Experience of managing budgets and delivering on time to cost and quality As a gold standard investor in people employer, our client recognises the importance of work/life balance and are committed to agreeing working arrangements to suit each individual.
