Overview

A financial service provider with offices just outside Harrogate is looking for a Front-End Developer to help them drive some key projects to the next level. They are looking for a Senior Developer with a real passion, who would like to work in a talented development team on some exciting projects. The ideal applicant will be someone who has commercial experience and a passion for development, and a real drive to use the latest technologies to create exciting, innovative products. DUTIES The Senior Front-end Developer role will include the following duties and responsibilities: Programming of new features and/or services required by the business. Converting designs from Marketing into working webpages/applications. Development of unit tests to ensure optimal code coverage. Ensuring all assets and code is optimised for the web and mobile devices. Debugging and resolving any bugs/defects that are reported. Analysing work requests, estimating and planning for implementation. Lead in monitoring and reviewing application performance. Creating mock-ups and prototypes. Develop and maintain functional tests. Lead the project/feature life cycle from initial idea to implementation and support. Review team members code. Create and maintain technical diagrams and supporting information. Supporting members of the team. Working with IT and Marketing departments. Assist the Marketing Department in realising all web related marketing goals SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Ideally someone with a strong background in Front-end development, with a at least 4 years' commercial experience with the following skill sets: 4 years proven commercial development experience Excellent understanding of HTML5/CSS3 Excellent knowledge of JavaScript and JavaScript design patterns Experience with automated testing and JavaScript testing frameworks Understanding of JavaScript/CSS performance optimization Understanding of mobile development/responsive design Understand common UX/UI design patterns, best practices, and standard conventions Excellent understanding of web standards and browser compatibility Experience with version control systems, preferably Git Experience with JavaScript frameworks, such as AngularJS, Ember, Backbone,js, Knockout.js or other JavaScript frameworks Strong interpersonal skills experience with and enthusiasm for working in an agile environment A passion for creating excellently crafted code BENEFITS Up to 33 days' holiday including bank holidays plus long-service increase.
