About the Organization: Reporting directly into the Sales Manager for UK and Ireland, the selected candidate will be part of a small team who are responsible for around 20 accounts in this region, respresenting around 80% of the UK’s water market share. As allowed by the function, candidates with sufficient experience in technical support will have the option to work remotely if desired. About the Position: Key Responsibilities: The scope of responsibilities owned by this position can increase with time as the selected candidate consolidates his knowledge and proves his capabilities. The hired candidate will be required to: Act as first point of contact for customers and potential clients Provide highly responsive customer service and maintain high level of member satisfaction Act as 1st level technical support, introducing customers queries into a CRM system Investigate and progress with queries up to conclusion, or escalate into 2nd level support as required. Identify and resolve issues related to activation, implementation or use of software. Assess customer’s technical needs and capabilities, and provide sound recommendations to ensure success. Comply with information security policies and procedures implemented by Itron. Once the technical support functions are secured, the position’s scope could grow to develop the following activities: Attend training courses and maintain documentation on new and existing services and processes, to ensure content accuracy and supportability of Company products. Learn, implement and teach best practices for implementation and configuration of company products. Provide on-site customer training sessions and in house training for Itron staff. Provide potential customers with on-site demo presentations of Itron’s hardware and software. Draft and present tenders to customers Collaborate with the support and operations teams to improve implementation and configuration of the professional service processes Travelling 10 – 20% of time may be required. Key Skills: Analytical skills to promptly identify customers problems. Problem solving abilities and creating effective solutions. Excellent communication skills. Must be customer orientated. Proactive and self-starter. Autonomous, or capable of working independently without continuous supervision. This is a typical office job, with no special physical requirements, or unusual work environment. Education and/or Experience: Previous technical background. A degree in engineering would be an advantage. Demonstrable experience in similar technical support positions. Previous experience in multicultural environment. High interest for the technical side of products as well as for the commercial side of business Fluent in both written and spoken English. An additional language will be an advantage.
