An opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker, to support adults with learning disabilities and become a valued member of the Support Worker team for a small supported living service in the Huddersfield region. This service supports adults with learning disabilities to be as independent as possible, encouraging active participation in various social activities. The service users take part in a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, sport and leisure, and they welcome a support worker who is passionate about supporting service users in attending activities and events. This professional organisation provide full training and ongoing support for progression for the Support Worker team. The salary range highlighted includes sleep over shifts. Support Worker Role : Supporting adults in a supported living setting with learning disabilities. Provide support with personal care and everyday tasks such as preparing and eating meals, attending appointments, budgeting, shopping. To ensure person centred care is provided, care plans are followed and updated and CQC standards are met. Encouraging individuals to partake in social and community events, sport such as swimming, bowling, hobbies, day trips, short holidays, support in going to the cinema, theatre, meals in restaurants, pubs and social evenings. Skills / Qualifications : Ideally have NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate with residents, team members and other professionals such as social workers.
