Overview

Writing for Video Games Tutor Location: Covent Garden, London Salary: £35.78 per hour inclusive of pro rata holiday entitlement and preparation time. Hours of Work: 7.40pm – 9.40pm on Tuesday evenings for 6 weeks. Totalling 12 hours of teaching. Start date: 2 nd June 2020. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: This is a fantastic opportunity to plan, teach and evaluate a course that inspires students to write dynamic video game narratives. If you have experience of writing in the video game industry, we would love to hear from you. The successful candidate will have a qualification relevant to the subject, and ideally experience of teaching or coaching adults. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach student-led sessions in a creative way that reflects the programme accurately and meets the overall requirements of the curriculum offer. Provide and work to a course outline, schemes of work, lesson plans and individual project briefs as required. Use ILT as appropriate to facilitate learning, prepare ILT and audio-visual equipment for classes with guidance and support from e-learning advisors. Develop, revise and use teaching materials that derive from a global perspective and that are relevant to a diverse student group. Assess students’ learning during the class, give them feedback and correct homework as required. Take responsibility for classroom administration, e.g. take registers and check students’ enrolment status etc. Actively advise students on progression routes to other courses and encourage students to try new City Lit courses. Carry out quality assurance procedures such as student self-assessment (Statements of learning), course review and evaluation procedures.
