About HM Treasury The Treasury is the United Kingdom's economics and finance ministry. It is responsible for formulating and implementing the government's financial and economic policy. About the Group Ministerial and Communications The Ministerial and Communications Group sits at the heart of the Treasury. It provides support to Ministers, through the Ministerial offices; it acts as the external face of the Treasury, through the Press Office and Communications teams; and it is responsible for the management of the department, through its support for the Permanent Secretary, the Treasury Board and the Executive Management Board (EMB), and its ownership of Treasury governance structures. The Group is led by the Permanent Secretary. Key accountabilities The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, and is experienced creating high quality video and digital assets for online audiences. They will have a creative eye, be a skilled editor, and can design motion graphics for social media. We are looking for someone who is innovative, full of proactive ideas about how to make use of the latest tech and who can build positive relationships and project-manage digital projects from initial brief through to delivery. Design and produce creative digital content Working with colleagues, you will to help plan and produce end-to-end video and graphic content. While supporting the wider digital communications team, you will be responsible for filming departmental and ministerial events and announcements. You'll manage our online streaming platform and collaborate with our Social Media Manager on live streams. You'll run shoots with confidence and flexibility. Provide support for HM Treasury social channels This involves working with press officers, policy officials and others to ensure that products are concise, tailored for their audience and meet editorial standards. The work also includes making the best use of HM Treasury online channels to communicate policies and announcements in a way that resonates with citizens. Support HM Treasury Digital Strategy To support the Head of Digital in refreshing and adapting our digital strategy - looking at ways to innovate, reach new audiences and do things differently. Sift Criteria Candidates - Please note, you will be asked to give evidence in your application of how you meet these criteria. Required Behaviours, Experience and Technical Skills: 1. Experience of video production, alongside creating products for social channels We are looking for someone who is creative and has an eye for composition and the skill to translate that into digital media. You should be passionate and experienced in video and animation - from scripting, storyboarding, producing, camera work and editing and audio-mixing. An understanding of design principles, including conceptualisation, layout, composition and typography, is ideal. You will use both Mac and PC platforms in the role, so some knowledge of both is preferable. Good knowledge and experience of Adobe Creative Suite products, including Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, is needed. Ideally you will also know Acrobat, InDesign and Illustrator well. You will produce content for all of the HM Treasury social channels so professional experience in creating and delivering successful content across these platforms is important. 2. Knowledge of social media channels and how organisations are increasingly using them to communicate We are looking for someone who understands how digital channels can be used as part of successful communications delivery. Ideally, you will have an interest in emerging design, digital content trends and technologies. Experience of using Wirecast or a similar tool is desirable. 3. Shown ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners You will have strong relationship-building skills, be comfortable dealing with ministers and people at all levels of the organisation, and feel confident about offering communication advice and guidance.
