The Role: The PR and Communications team is highly respected across the legal sector. With a strong track-record of delivering innovative PR and communications campaigns, you will be dealing with some of the world's most high profile business names on behalf of some of the world's top lawyers. You'll be given the exciting opportunity to be involved in projects where you can make a valuable contribution to secure high-quality media coverage for your key stakeholders. Key responsibilities: You will play a key role in building the firm’s media profile and advising a range of audiences and stakeholders on all PR-related matters. There will be close liaison with senior lawyers to develop focused PR and communications campaigns and profile their work to develop and enhance our brand. You will identify and secure opportunities for our lawyers to comment on in the national, international and trade press. Report directly to a Senior PR Manager, you will be integral to the firmwide press office function with responsibilities including: Press office - driving daily proactive and reactive media opportunities with key media. Regularly liaising with legal teams on ideas for commentary, bylined articles and press releases. Building and maintaining relationships with key national, legal and trade journalists and delivering a dedicated media engagement programme, against plan, for legal teams Planning - Proactively managing a portfolio of work, responsible for creating and implementing strategic and tactical PR plans Crisis communications - Supporting senior team members when handling press enquiries and any media crises scenarios Monitoring and evaluation - Responsible for the PR evaluation, measurement and metrics of your portfolio Skills, competencies and experience: Candidates will need to have proven solid PR experience in an agency or corporate in-house role which, alongside a written test, will be explored at interview. The following attributes (although not exhaustive) will be key to making a success of this role: A strong communicator, able to negotiate stories and present results to both journalists and lawyers Ability to build and maintain relationships within the organisation, with journalists and other external audiences A keen interest in current affairs and be able to pro-actively seek comment from legal advisers in-line with stories currently top of the news agenda Able to undertake PR planning and implementing PR campaigns PR experience in professional services or corporate PR industry is desirable, with demonstrable experience of working with the UK national and sector Team oriented, flexible and display a consistently positive attitude with a can-do approach Innovative and able to put their creative ideas into practice Able to work independently, be proactive and highly organised The ability to manage conflicting priorities, timescales and messages Liaise with the wider legal and marketing team to ensure PR campaigns are fully aligned and integral to wider campaigns
