The Priory Cheadle Royal Hospital is a specialist provider of complex mental health services, providing clinical excellence across 13 wards which include acute adult wards, Eating Disorder Service, CAMHS, Rehabilitation, Acute and PICU services. Acute Services have developed reputation for offering treatment or complex and challenging presentations. Alder Unit is a 14 bedded mixed gender acute unit. The unit has built reputation of offering evidence based comprehensive care and treatment for patients with varied range of psychiatric presentation with serious risk to self and/or others. This post offers excellent opportunity for consultant to work with MDT and experienced group of consultant colleagues across site. You will have a solid commitment to CPD and have an excellent track record in supporting candidate, will join a large team of medical colleagues and will participate in peer group meetings, clinical meetings and academic meetings. Candidate will also join out of hours 1:7 on call rota for the site. This role would suit someone who has had experience of working with acute adult settings with complex presentations. We are looking for an experienced dynamic and flexible candidate who takes initiative and enjoys working in a fast paced unit with high patient turnover. Key Accountabilities include: -RC responsibility for all patients. -Safe prescribing and monitoring of physical health. -Comprehensive Assessments and treatment planning with patients external share holders and carers. -Management of patients on the ward including physical health, mental state and risk management and formulation. -Adhering to organisational admission and discharge policy and procedures. -Timely discharge GP notifications and discharge summaries. -Preparation of Mental Health Act tribunal reports. -Must have proficient IT skills as prompt entry onto the electronic care record is essential. -Engagement with external professionals and families/carers. -Participation in audit, research, quality and performance management and other clinical and professional activities.
