Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a consultant psychiatrist to the Liaison Service in Trafford General and Wythenshawe Hospitals. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team that is working towards becoming a CORE 24 service. This newly created post is an exciting opportunity to be involved in shaping and modernising mental health services in Manchester. The post has been approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The Liaison Service provides mental health care to Trafford General and Wythenshawe Hospitals. The successful candidate will support the team in the assessment and management of people over the age of 16. The diversity of clinical specialisms within Wythenshawe and Trafford is an exciting opportunity for learning and continuing professional development. Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust provides a number of specialist mental health services supporting all of Greater Manchester, the North West and beyond. These include Forensic Mental Health services, Substance Misuse services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Mental Health and Deafness, Health and Justice providing a service into the prison estate in Greater Manchester and Lancashire, Specialist Psychological services providing services to veterans, as well as Perinatal Services.
