About the role The Investigations Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and casework support to the investigation team throughout the investigation and subsequent progression of the case in line with the rules, operational standards and performance measures. This is a varied role which plays a critical part in ensuring the NMC meets its service standards and key performance indicators. The role requires motivation and the ability to support the team with a high volume of caseloads and managing conflicting priorities effectively. As well as providing administrative support the role involves assisting with gathering information and evidence, taking witness statements and holding a small individual caseload of investigations to progress. Previous investigations experience is not essential. This is a great opportunity to get exposure to an investigations environment and to develop and enhance your investigation skills. Skills and experience required Ability to proactively plan, prioritise, multi-task and meet tight deadlines. Ability to work within defined regulations and follow established procedures. Have well developed communication skills and demonstrable written and verbal English skills. Highly motivated and able to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently using own initiative. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to problem solve. Able to demonstrate a high level of integrity, patience, resilience, confidence and professionalism when dealing with pressured, unpredictable and sensitive situations and, at times, differing points of view.
