Lead DevOps Engineer Birmingham - Up to £70,000 bonus A reputable financial organisation based in Birmingham are seeking a talented and passionate Lead DevOps Engineer with strong AWS knowledge to join their organisation and play a pivotal role in delivering multiple transformation projects. Job Duties Monitors AWS CloudWatch and CloudTrail event logs to ensure security of data and access privileges Managing users, groups, roles and policies in AWS Install/troubleshoot application software, user account management and installation/support of third party services (Lambda / DynamoDB / ElastiCache / S3 / CloudFront), user account management (Active Directory, Cognito, SAML/SSO and IAM), and installation/support of other third-party software (various APIs and external services) To escalate and report issues that is likely to cause any service outage, and internal service levels not being met Perform regular testing and scanning of cloud products and application customers to ensure compliance with overall security standards Operate and support cloud team products and legacy applications not operating in a full-stack operating model Creation of continuous security communities of practices across the organization Engineer, manage, and support cloud security products Hands-on technical coaching to accelerate cloud security learning across the organisation Pair with application teams to design and implement secure coding and continuous security practices within their applications Pair with engineering teams to design and implement codified stacks that meet the needs of their applications Operate and support cloud team products and legacy applications not operating in a full-stack operating model Drive infrastructure as code and configuration management communities of practices across the organisation To develop and engineer system solutions for pre-defined small change and fix-on-fail activities, Ensuring that all proposed business changes are formally mapped back to strategic goals and have documented risks, which are reviewed and managed. Challenge the current approach to enable/enhance delivery as and when required To review advice given on any proposed system changes or designs, either throughout the project lifecycle or enhancements worked upon, The definition of requirements for improving any of the above and the quantification of potential business benefits Advanced knowledge and experience with at least some of the following: Amazon Web Services (AWS), MS Azure or IBM Softlayer Understanding of security best practices and Strong troubleshooting skills AWS based Provisioning (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFront, CloudFormation, Security Groups, Network Routing/ACLs) AWS based build, deployment and automation (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Code Deploy) Creating automation workflows with of configuration management tools like Ansible, Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation An advanced understanding of the interfaces within system components Process adherence of the Remedy System or other ITSM system, Including Incident, Problem and Change Management protocols An informed and current understanding of any advancements in "outside" technologies and importantly how this would impact or interface with L & G's existing systems Knowledge of all business systems utilised and how the end-to-end process of business delivery occurs Advanced working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, E-mail and any other Microsoft packages utilised Skills: Proven Experience in problem analysis and development tools Experience with administrating SaaS environments and tuning Ability to write advanced level Python and Shell. Basic knowledge of Go and/or nodeJS is a plus Experience with Jenkins (Jenkins Pipelines being a plus) Experience of using cloud based solutions (AWS-EC2/S3, Azure Experience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, automated application deployment, monitoring/telemetry, logging, reporting/dashboarding, and continuous delivery technologies Experience with containers and container scheduling and management platforms such as: Docker, rkt, Mesos, or Kubernetes Experience managing traditional enterprise platforms for compute, network, and storage Experience managing traditional enterprise platforms for application runtimes, integration middleware, and relational databases Understand and demonstrate the importance of mitigating risk, ensuring that any areas of concern are identified and correctly reported to the Service Delivery manager or equivalent Able to demonstrate to a high level of satisfaction the completion of pre-defined ISEB processes for testing, to include Acceptance Testing, Design and build techniques, unit testing, test scripts etc. To correctly interpret and utilise the test approach map Able to use risk-analysis techniques applied to business impact and value-add in prioritising fix on fail testing Within a fast-paced, technology-focused environment this role is sure to be a quick turnaround - so don't miss out The client are offering a competitive salary of up to £70k and offer great benefits such as 25 days holiday, excellent pension scheme and a healthy bonus.
