Overview
A leading residential developer are looking to add a Materials Buyer to join their growing business in Oxford. Reporting into a Buying Manager, this role offers the successful candidate the chance to learn and develop their procurement skills within an excellent procurement and commercial team. Responsibilities include: · Assist in the preparation of accurate quantities and materials schedules · Place orders for material and plant for the housing developments · Issue tender packages to suppliers to price & schedule · Monitor orders against budget · Assist the commercial team in the preparation of the working budget · Review invoice queries and resolve/respond in a timely manner · Provide support to Site Management to co-ordinate material deliveries to enable construction work to proceed to agreed programmes · Assist in monitoring the site control of materials · Work with internal and external colleagues in a professional and courteous manner · Ensure compliance with company standard procedures Candidates must have UK experience and currently working at either a Builders Merchant, Materials yard and / or a residential developer or main contractor.
