An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client (a leading, global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum) are currently looking for an Innovation Transformation Manager/Product Owner to be based at their prestigious facility in Blackfriars. This is a full-time, temporary role for a period of 12 months. This role is paying up to £71,000 pro rata, per annum, depending on experience. Role Background InnoFLEX is the innovation governance process which will replace the current linear IPM process for our client, and the new IT system to support it. The new governance is designed to unlock growth by helping to deliver a stronger portfolio of consumer-relevant mixes. The main purpose of the role is to be the project lead for the Technology tools (the new InnoFLEX IT system) which support the end-to-end new innovation process. This includes leading the redesign and rebrand of enabling technology platform (currently known as IPM Navigator) and harnessing new technologies (cognitive computing, automation, voice etc.) to ensure it is a user-centric, simple, friction-free and flexible system which enables innovation. It will allow teams to simply and accurately manage their portfolios from ideas to execution and to post launch, whilst maintaining its use as a business tool (data, learning, risk management, funnel value, reporting, etc.). The Product Owner is the voice of the (internal) consumer; ideal for a highly-motivated marketer with a genuine interest in technology and innovation and high empathy for the user. The Product Owner bridges the gaps between the business stakeholders and the IT development teams to drive the development of the new InnoFLEX system. They will identify user needs, ensure the cross-functional teams understand the vision and strategic intent of the product and manage product releases. The Product Owner has deep business knowledge and has an excellent ability to transform strategic intent into fully elaborated requirements in the form of user stories, feature specifications and acceptance criteria. The Product Owner leads the user adoption program for InnoFLEX and it is their responsibility to work with communication agencies to design imaginative internal campaigns and training programs. Your responsibilities: Manage the delivery of the new InnoFLEX system to bring user centric solutions to both Innovators and Business portfolio managers. Determine current and future users' needs. Map out the user journeys and define requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for the new system; translate business requirements for technical team. Work closely with design team responsible for user experience and interface. Lead the development of the innovation reporting solutions - data mapping, wireframes development and quality testing Review requirements and feature designs with users to validate feature improvements. Own the product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities. Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product. Identify and manage potential integration with other Unilever applications (ex: Eco-Design, CARA, etc.) Monitor features, performance and process by evaluation/KPIs. Manage the roll-out of the new system. Manage the change programme to transition from current system to new including building the communication plan, data migration and identifying the capability building requirements. Lead and develop a team of 6 system experts (product owners, data, UX/UI and user engagement leads). Manage the existing system and capabilities until they are replaced by the new model - this includes the current IPM Navigator system, its ongoing improvements and services (e.g. askIPM, reporting) and the AI pilot (Q Innovation Assistant). Manage the current system, ensuring continuity and quality of reporting, continuous improvements to customer service and ongoing simplification. Manage any queries linked to innovation performance from the business (senior stakeholders, etc.) Manage interfaces with other teams/systems who use or interface with current IPM Navigator data. Key Requirements Demonstrated success in shaping new products that bring value to people and bringing them to the market. Deep understanding of Unilever's current business innovation process and requirements; marketing and category strategy experience and desire to lead the change. Previous Unilever working experience highly desirable. Strong conceptual grasp of technology with successful history of delivering technical projects. Knowledge of the software development lifecycle is a bonus. Experience and track record of success directing the efforts of developers as a project manager/product owner in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment. Proven track record of data-supported consumer insights and experience in problem solving through best-in-class experimentation practices, using metrics to support assumptions. Experience of e2e consumer journey design and delivery. Excellent organizational and project management skills; experience in Agile is a bonus. Purposeful leadership - ability to build, lead, motivate a team, developing their competencies, skills and autonomy. Must be comfortable working remotely while still maintaining high level of leadership skills. Multiple stakeholder experience. Entrepreneurial learn-through-doing mindset.
