We are looking for an experienced Strategy, Growth & Innovation professional to join our President's Office, based at our Mauritius African Leadership College campus, with these abilities: * Start with the consumer and serve them through our key university pillars * Focus on building a competitive advantage that will propel ALU into the future * Bring an independent point of view and relentlessly pursue the right answer * Harness the power of culture and process to mobilize ALU * Simplify without sacrificing rigor or being simplistic * Reimagine ALU's approach to higher education to deliver impact at scale * Leverage a digital mindset to transform how we work * Build and utilize global partnerships * Be effective in lean culture ABOUT THE ROLE You will be responsible for Strategic Planning and Implementation, supporting the President and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of the university to develop and execute near and long-term growth strategies, to define and drive new business initiatives and plans, lead our strategic innovation efforts and leveraging partnerships as needed. Internally, you will be reporting to the President of ALU, and you will sit on the university's SLT. You will also work across the organization to understand the institution's needs and collaborate with the SLT and their teams to embed and support execution of new initiatives. Externally, you will research and support the SLT in engaging strategic partners for the university. RESPONSIBILITIES Strategy Development * Help shape and drive strategic priorities to achieve ALU's vision and make ALU the most preeminent university in Africa, working closely with the President and engaging management teams to define project scope and implementation goals * Coordinate the strategic planning process milestones and deliverables, including developing of rolling 5 years strategic plans, annual plans, quarterly business reviews and other business updates * Lead the development of a 10-year strategic vision and input into the long-range financial model * Coach the organization and devise approaches to create a more strategic culture across the university - strategic thinking, logical frameworks, strategic analysis, decision, and choice making New Business Development * Provide insights and analytical support for strategic initiatives, research projects related to market trends, consumer profiles and competitive intelligence * Explore opportunities for the university to create new revenue sources and build strategic partnerships and a network that will support its work and work with appropriate leaders across the org to set and achieve these goals Innovation * Build a well-balanced innovation portfolio and roadmap that drives impact, the university experience, investments, and revenue growth * Create an innovation strategy that is understood and endorsed by the university community * Evangelize innovation as an essential part of the university culture Executive Support * Represent the views of the President and introduce and promote ALU's projects and initiatives to a variety of internal and external stakeholders * Perform other duties as directed by the President WHAT YOU BRING TO ALU * Strong academic background : MBA preferred * Experience : At least 8 years working experience, including extensive experience in marketing, management consulting, investment banking, strategic planning, business development or innovation * Strategic thinking : Proven ability to use strategic tools and frameworks to analyze complex strategic problems, develop clear recommendations and present findings * Innovation : Strong record driving and executing innovation and disruptive thinking in a role or organization where innovation was encouraged * Digital : Very comfortable with digital tools and able to support and help build a digital culture * Data-driven : Proven ability to synthesize data and analyze and apply research related to consumers, industries & competitors * Problem solver : Ability to break down and simplify ambiguous problems in
