As our Maintenance Technician , you’ll join our Knowl Hill site, near Reading , on a full-time basis earning a competitive salary up to £35,000 plus on call and overtime. Responsibilities of our Maintenance Technician - Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on the waste treatment plant and ancillary equipment - you must be able to replace a bearing and change a motor. - Reviewing and, where needed, developing maintenance plans to increase plant availability times. - Identifying faults by observing the plant, listening for irregular noises and monitoring the controls for abnormal readings. - Good mechanical knowledge - for example, replacing conveyor bearings, maintaining hydraulics, changing motors, etc. - Problem-solving skills. - Competent with ARC welding. - Comprehensive know-how of the health and safety requirements associated with maintenance activities. - A personality that gets the best out of people, from colleagues to contractors. The ideal Maintenance Engineer will have the below skills and experience: At least 3 year’s experience in a maintenance environment. Qualified to City & Guilds Level 3 standard with a time served Mechanical Apprenticeship to NVQ level 3 or equivalent. Experience & Knowledge of servicing mechanical equipment is essential.
