Overview

Project Engineer A worldwide provider of reciprocating equipment supplied into a variety of industries, due to growth, are now looking for an additional Project Engineer to join their existing engineering team based in Colchester. Reporting into the Lead Project Engineer, the successful individual will be responsible for both the design and managing the full project lifecycle on new engineering projects from cradle to grave as well as supporting the Lead Project Engineer on some elements of ongoing projects. This will include interpreting customer requirements and specifications; produce the required detailed technical documentation; act as the main point of contact for customer and supplier enquiries; produce both conceptual and detailed designs for manufacturing using 3D SolidWorks as well as P&ID’s and design calculations; working closely with other departments to ensure the smooth running of projects and they are on time and within the required budget. The successful individual will be qualified to HNC/HND or Degree standard within Mechanical Engineering; be able to demonstrate at least 3 years commercial experience of working within a design or project engineering capacity, working with 3D CAD to produce both conceptual and detailed designs for mechanical systems which incorporate piping, instrumentation, hydraulics, pneumatics, welded fabrications, process skids or similar and now looking to progress their career towards project management. Individuals will be expected to obtain UK security clearance due to the nature of some of the customers that the client supplies into. The client is looking for individuals who possess strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable interfacing with customers; the ability to prioritise workloads and be able to work well under pressure. The position is offering a salary of £29,000 - £33,000 depending on experience as well as contributory pension scheme and 25 days holiday bank holidays.
