Overview

Due to continual growth, our client, a key player within the Telecoms and IT industry is actively seeking an experienced, diligent and reliable Hosted Telephony Support Engineer to complement their Technical Support Team on a permanent basis. Key responsibilities will include; • Logging customer queries and requests by telephone and email • Analysing SIP Traces so you can spot common trends and resolve faults. • Where necessary, escalate issues or liaise with third parties. • Working with customers to identify and diagnose hardware device, software applications, system, and/or network problems and advising on the solution. • Logging and keeping records of customer issues and solutions. • Responding to Moves, Adds and Change requests where required in a timely manner. • Testing and implementing fault solutions for customers. • Understanding and anticipate customers’ needs, requirements and be able to establish effective internal and external customer relationships. • Must be able to plan work and schedule task and activities and manage them accordingly The successful candidate will have experience within a similar role specifically in installation or support of hosted telephony together with a good familiarity of survey/project planning concepts alongside excellent customer communication skills with the ability to perform effectively and professionally in order to represent the company accordingly. A background knowledge of VOIP telephony/switch & routers/LAN/WAN and troubleshooting would be highly advantageous as would technical experience in: • Broadsoft and Asterix based Hosted PBX. • Exposure to traditional IP PBX would be useful. • Wireshark packet analyser support. • Strong understanding of DSL products (such as ADSL/FTTC) and FTTP/Leased Line. • Configuration of switches and routers. • Analysing SIP Traces and Flows. • TCP/IP, SIP, RTP, DNS, DHCP.
