Overview

My client is a leading IT software company with a range of market leading software products backed up with a range of consultancy services which help customers deliver a better service. They are currently seeking a Hosted/Cloud IT Engineer who will be responsible for the support and continuous improvement of cloud platforms, which run their business-critical customer facing applications. Candidates can be Midlands based, ideally between Birmingham and Oxford. Working within the Hosting Team, the role will be responsible for day to day management and full support of the cloud-based infrastructure. There is also the requirement to plan, develop and introduce changes in order to support future development of our services. Applicants will need to have a solid experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) including resource provisioning and network management. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance, and monitoring of infrastructure assets on our cloud platforms. Proactively monitoring cloud environments ensuring system availability and performance. Troubleshooting issues as they arise and automating resolutions where possible Managing backup and disaster recovery processes and tasks Configuration, administration, installation and upgrading of cloud infrastructure, firewalls, databases, malware protection software, products, and services. Strong communication skills with modern cloud technical expertise and problem-solving skills. Candidates will need to show a p roven experience in cloud infrastructure including: EC2 Beanstalk Route 53 ElastiCache S3 CloudFront Lambda Proven experience with working with monitoring applications such as: Dynatrace Sentry Firebase Atlas (MongoDB) Experience working in a client-facing environment. Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats. Ability to produce detailed system documentation and guides for other teams.
