Development Engineer Allstaff Recruitment are recruiting for a Development Engineer , to join an ever-growing legal company based in Bedfordshire. The Development Engineer is to take a pivotal role in the progression of off line development based projectsfrom inception through to completion with focus on the application of newer technologies within the company. The role will also cover optimisation of existing Company products. Whilst predominantly based in the main site there will be the requirement for worldwide travel on occasion. The Development Engineer will be involved from concept through to detailed design, prototype, pre-production work and testing of Mechanical, Electrical and Software systems within the business. Hence the challenges for the Development Engineer will be extremely demanding although rewarding and a broad outline is given below. The role As Development Engineer your role will involve the following important duties: Independent research into materials, products, process and competitors Preparation of layout, assembly and detail drawings in 2D and 3D. Preparation of electrical schematics and specifications. Preparation of functional descriptions and translation in to working software. Specification and procurement of third party equipment and components. Assembly of prototype systems. Testing of equipment. Recording of results and report writing. Ensuring systems compliance with relevant standards. Preparation of Designers Risk Assessments. Preparation of manuals. Training. Assisting with manufacturing solutions within the business. Offer a technical backup service to Sales, Projects, Design, Manufacturing and Service departments Be prepared to support Projects with implementation of technology. The experience required… As a successful Development Engineer you will have: Completer finisher, accurate, organised, self motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic with a broad understanding of engineering process and principles. Previous industrial/process/manufacturing engineering and PLC programming skills would be highly advantageous. Should be IT literate and familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs Capable of independent working and research yet be able to take instruction and work within a team. Be responsible and flexible in working hours management.
