Overview

Lead RF - EMF Engineer As part of our client's Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) team you will be instrumental in facilitating the evaluation of the EMF safety for many systems and trials across a number of different sites. You will be part of a small team of experts who provide the advice, support and guidance to project teams and the facilities to ensure that the business meets its legislative requirements for both EMF workers and the public. Part of this role is to act as the EMF site safety advisor for a small number of sites, this will involve offering ongoing advice and direction to the heads of these sites or on a project by project basis. The EMF team is part of a larger RF Group, involved in a breadth of activities involving RF design, test, and measurement. If desired, opportunities exist for a variety of work alongside this core role. Specific responsibilities will include: Acting as the EMF site safety advisor for a small number of sites, reporting to the heads of site Working with the Team Lead to ensure that tasks are scheduled with the correct resource in place Production and upkeep of EMF management plans for each site Advice to project teams to cover all aspects of RF emission on the sites Production of EMF safety cases and Letters of Authority to ensure safe operation of RF systems on complex sites. Knowledge and skills required: A degree in a Physics or related engineering discipline. Proven understanding of fundamental electromagnetic (EM) theory. Experience in communication and sensor systems (desirable) Experience in modelling EM propagation and analysing the resulting data (desirable). Strong analytical and numerical skills. Experience in completing EMF safety surveys. Experience in using MATLAB or other numerical / data analysis language (desirable). An excellent grasp of the English language including a proven ability to write clear and concise technical reports.
